Well, the Championships are over, with winners decided in all categories, despite having only one and a half days' shooting at our club instead of three, and despite an elimination round having to be cancelled on Friday at the site of the finals. The Welsh Folk Museum at St Fagan's is flat, but even so the courses became so muddy they couldn't complete a second round in the day. The sun finally came out yesterday for the final day.
Congratulations are due to all the winners, of course. Additionally, I think any archer or judge or volunteer or organiser who's been involved in proceedings this last week (not me: I did my bit the week before when it was drier) deserves a medal for perseverance above and beyond the call of reason.
It's not normally this bad in Wales in September, honest!
